Keelan
is a special Papillon rescue from San Francisco animal control. She
may be a Papillon mixed with Jack Russell? We'll never know! I happened
upon this loving, energetic baby after losing my twelve-year-old Papillon,
Zeus from heart disease. Apparently, Keelan wandered away from her birth
home in search of a world where she could chase her new kitty sister and
offer kisses to her new mommy. Keelan is a master at remove stuffing from
pillows, hurdling child-safety gates and running in circles. Keelan is a
pure joy and brings a smile to faces throughout the neighborhood!
Keelan is Gaelic for "little one," although she comes in at fifteen pounds
which is a little larger than I expected! Keelan is a snuggler at night,
curling up close under the covers but a wild and crazy pup during the day.
She is simply tireless; after taking her for a five mile run, Keelan runs
circles around my feet as I fall exhausted on the couch. Keelan loves to
play with other dogs and does not really consider size, shape or color an
issue just as long as you want to play! If you do not have time to play,
no problem, she just somersaults trying over and over again trying to
catch her tail.
She does know tricks such as "sit" and "down" but she also knows
"high-five" and "spin around" which involves dancing in a circle while
standing only on her hind feet. Keelan came into my life in March, where
we guessed her to be about three to four months. And yes Josiah, the boy in the
picture, did get to finish most of his pizza, but as you can see in the
attached he came close to losing it at least once. Eventually, Josiah
shared the crust (a.k.a. pizza bone to Keelan) and they were forever
friends from there forward.
