This
is Driver. He is a Pointer and one of the best dogs my wife and I
have ever owned. Within an hour of getting him he bonded with my wife and
has become her once in a lifetime dog. When he hears her car coming down
our road everything stops and his attention and barking is exclusively
focused on the front door. Just the mention of my wife's name brings
Driver to a standstill.
Driver will turn fourteen this December. We have had him for a little over ten
years. He has welcomed every dog that we adopted into his house. About one
and half years prior to us getting Driver his left rear leg had to be
amputated at the hip. Despite this, up to a year ago, Driver would
willingly go on daily two mile walks. He now focuses his energy on walking
the perimeter of our yard.
For those of you who may be hesitant on adopting a three-legged dog...
don't as you will be making a big mistake. It is amazing how dogs adapt to
what they have and have not a care in the world for what they do not.
Driver's simply a great dog.
