Hudson
was a wedding gift to my husband and me, a gift I would say is my
absolute favorite!!! We have been overwhelmed by the amount of love two
people can have for an animal. It is amazing how fast your happiness can
be over-shadowed by the verification of a joint disease. At five months
old, Hudson was diagnosed with Osteochondritis Dissecans (OCD). OCD is
damaged cartilage or cartilage that grows abnormally. Learning of this
disease, we were heartbroken and followed through with the necessary
surgery to correct the joints and with the necessary hydro physical
therapy for nine weeks following surgery. Today, Hudson is able to willing
walk around the block, run on the trails at our local parks, and
socializes with other dogs again without the pain. We are forever
grateful for the improvements Hudson has made due to the hard work from
his orthopedic surgeon and vet!
He makes us laugh daily with his fun personality. He is calm and a very
quick learner. Hudson graduated from puppy training and has remained
well behaved through his puppy stages. We have been so impressed by the
fact that he hasn't destroyed anything in our house and knows where to
potty. Hudson's favorite thing to do is ride in the car with the
windows down heading to a place with water. He is obsessed with swimming
and is very graceful in the water. He also loves to find sticks around
our yard to play with and chew on. One of my favorite things about
Hudson is he literally has to be near me. He follows me everywhere and
has become quite the guard dog if I am home alone. He is so sweet and
cuddly that no matter how big he gets, he will always be allowed to lay
on-top of me!
Momma's Boy?... Definitely!!!! But we wouldn't have it any other way.
