Festas
is not special because he's been without a front leg for seven
years, but rather, he is special because of his very loving and positive
attitude. He doesn't focus on his handicap, but only his joy for life
and squirrels. Festas will turn ten years old soon, and he still enjoys
short walks, sniffing stop signs, eating hot dogs, seeing horses and car
trips to Home Depot and Wal-Mart.
Festas was adopted the age of eight weeks old from Last Hope rescue
shelter. The injury to his front right paw was caused by a raccoon trap
when he was just four weeks old. The farmer who owned Festas at the time
named him Festas from the tv show "Gunsmoke" due to his limp.
He is a miracle and a blessing to everyone who meets him.
