This
is Turner at about sixteen weeks old. We were at a dog park for this
picture. Turner loves to play with all the other dogs we have in the home.
He has learned by example. I virtually had to do little training. Turner
sleeps in bed with me, along with his canine parents and two Italian
Greyhounds. Yes I have five dogs in bed with me every night. Turner's first
trick I taught his was to spin or go around in a circle then sit and give
his paw. Now when it's mealtime or time for their after-dinner treat, it
is always a carrot (we go thru five pounds of carrots in about five to six days). I
just say to Turner "Round," he then spins around once and holds up his
paw. Now I may say it again, and again. Each time, Turner will spin once
then sit and extend his paw.
This summer we discovered a outdoor restaurant that allows dogs. It's just
twenty feet off of the Racine Harbor at Lake Michigan. We tend to take turns
bringing them with us to dinner three to four times a week. Taking turns with the
dogs, again not more than three at a time. It is a great place to take Turner
out in public to socialize him.
Turner loves to play tug with all the toys we have here, provided someone
else is in the mood. Usually Turner's parents will always join in the fun.
I would have to say of Turner, along with all of our other dogs, that his
and their most favorite thing to do is going for a ride in the car. If
they see me putting on my shoes or grabbing a coat. Well, all heck breaks
loose, but never all the dogs at once. Just two or three at one time is enough
in the car!
