Ms
Missy gave us her love and companionship for eleven of her fifteen years.
She was adopted on April 15, 1999 and departed April 15, 2010. Missy was the best
behaved, well mannered doggie from the beginning and she fit our lifestyle
perfectly. Anyone who ever met her even if they weren't "dog people" fell in
love with her! She had the softest fur, almost like a rabbit, which made for
great cuddling.
Missy and I met at an elementary school where I had gone to vote and she was
running the parking lot greeting everyone who would pay attention to her.
When she saw me she ran and sat down in front of me wagging her tail waiting
for me to pet her. I walked with her to a grassy area and sat down and talked
to her. She had no tags or collar. I had to leave but came back later to look
for her as I couldn't get her off my mind; she had already stolen my heart. I
called the local pound hoping she had been picked up at the school and she
had. I visited her every day for the mandatory five day waiting period and
brought her home.
I will forever remember her bright eyes, wagging tail and happy demeanor. She
had a paralyzing stroke four years ago and wasn't expected to live and I was
advised to "put her down". We just couldn't do it and my husband and I
devoted 24/7 to her, working with her and within a few days she started
responding and after a few months of therapy and love she got back to her
loving self. She was a fighter and had a will to live. We were so thankful
for the additional time we had been granted with her. She was a wonderful
little girl and will be missed desperately. As bad as losing her is, I
wouldn't give up our time together for anything.
