Clover
is a rescue dog who came to live with us in the summer of 2008 from a
local shelter. Clover has bags of personality and never fails to get excited
by new faces and places. Even her daily routine seems to be a source of
enjoyment! Her favorite things in life include; playing with her 'tuggy
rope', digging (both indoors and out), chasing, wide open spaces and
welcoming visitors to the outdoor museum where she 'works'. The museum has a
working farm with goats, sheep, hens, pigs and horses and Clover takes on the
role of farm dog, welcoming visitors with a waggy tail and a quick sniff of
their pockets (just in case they happen to have sweets). At the museum she
spends all day exploring the outdoors, which, coming originally from a city
centre home, must be a real treat with fields, hedgerow and woodland on her
doorstep. Clover now lives with us in a small village and she has excitedly
explored many of the laneways and coastal walks the area has to offer. She
has introduced herself to all the neighbors and is in popular demand with the
local children.
Clover has come on quite a journey. She was relatively untrained and had to
take a few behavior lessons. She was also quite ill when she came to live
with us, but after a few operations she was on course to be a healthy dog-
with only a couple of allergies causing itchy ears and paws- but these are
being treated. We've also taught Clover a few tricks, which she does somewhat
reluctantly. Her range includes paw and roll over... and that would be the
totality of her repetoire! Clover is also a very vocal dog, she doesn't
regularly bark, however, she does make grumbling noises when she wants food
or attention or a walk. She is also a very vocal dreamer and the loudest
breather I have ever heard! All in all is very entertaining, great compnay
and a friend to all she meets.
