Hi
there, I am Scamp the Schnoodle and I live in Albany, New York and
Tucson, Arizona (during the winter months). I guess you could call me a
snow-Schnoodle.
I was born in Virginia but came to Albany at the tender age of nine weeks.
Thanks to my good looks and winning personality it took no time at all to
advance to the top of the chain of command in my new home. Pretty soon I
had my mom, dad, and two great boys doing my every bidding. They caught on
quickly when it came to knowing what I needed to be happy.
My one ongoing challenge is Mimi. She is a c-a-t. I love her. Perhaps our
communication needs a little improvement, I will concede. Instead of
barking at me to say, "Let's play!", she hisses and swats me on the head
when I get too close. Sometimes it hurts my feelings, but deep down, I
just know she loves me. After twelve years, how could she not?
I love everyone who shows the slightest interest in me, most especially
kids.
And ladies.
And men.
Not to mention babies.
And- well, you probably get the idea!
I have heard it said that I tend to be a little "barky."
If someone out there knows a better way to keep squirrels and crows off of
the lawn, please do let me know. I take my responsibilities seriously, thank you.
Nice to meet everyone, one of the pictures show me and Mimi.
No cracks about her size, please. She may be supersized, but she's all mine!
Love,
Scamp
Scamp's mom here. I must relate to you that, sadly, we lost our 15-year-old
cat Mimi, when she succumbed to sudden onset diabetes. It is an ongoing loss
for all of us, including Scamp. Scamp has never been destructive, not even as
a puppy. A few days after Mimi's death, he tore a curtain off of a window and
shredded it. We are convinced he was expressing his frustration and grief at
her sudden disappearance.
Scamp has made an excellent adjustment to spending the winter months in
Arizona since his retirement from pediatrics. He has made many new friends in
Arizona. One of our neighbors is so besotted with Scamp and his large
attitude that he is determined to find his own Schnoodle. At the end of May we
will return to upstate New York for the summer and fall, where Scamp will be
reunited with family and friends. We are looking forward to many more years
with our little character, Scamp.
