Hi!
We have a Shetland Sheep dog better known as a Sheltie. His name is
Maverick. He came into our lives just shortly before we had to put our
beloved Snuggles to sleep. Maverick really softened the blow by being there.
He is a very personable dog. He is four years old now and loves to play with his
toys. But the toys are not allowed out of the bedroom. If you pick one up
and carry it out of the bedroom and try to play with him, he'll grab it and
put it back into the bedroom. We don't know why he does this but he does. He
always waits patiently under the dinner table for us to finish eating because
he knows he'll get a treat when we are done. After his treat, he's ready to
go outdoors to do his business. He may have gone out right before dinner,
but he still has to go out after his treat because that's when he goes out.
He may not do anything but he goes out nonetheless.
Nothing could be nicer than coming home to Maverick in the house. He's up in
the living room window watching for us. When we pull into the garage, he
moves to the bedroom door right behind the garage/kitchen door coming into the
house. Then he's turning circles and greeting us happily, then waiting to go
out. He's the best!
