This
is Kayla. She was found on the back patio of an apartment, tucked away
in a crowded corner. We took her in and fell in love immediately, but no
sooner than she began to get settled, she became very ill and we found out
that she had PARVO. It took a little time, but with some intense TLC she
beat it! Our little Kayla is a fighter and after four years, I can say that
she is the strongest dog I known.
"Kay-k" is spunky, a little snooty and very vocal, but a complete lover and
a bundle of joy. Her favorite things are her toy squirrels, tennis balls,
treats and most importantly her pink blankie. She takes it to bed with her
every night or brings it to the living room for a nap, if that's where
everyone else is. She loves going to grandma's house on the weekend, mainly
because she knows that when mom and dad aren't looking, she'll get a grape
or special treat that she doesn't usually get at home. Like most dogs,
Kayla loves to be petted and groomed and she expresses it with cute grunts
and loving growls. Although she may have a tough exterior, Kayla makes
friends with everyone... well, given that you #1) Give her a treat, #2)
Throw her tennis ball and #3) Scratch her tummy for hours on end, but hey,
is that too much to ask for? She doesn't think so!
Like most pet owners I can go on and on about how wonderful our Kayla is.
Mostly I just want to say that we are blessed to have found her and no
matter how many times she uses our clean laundry as her personal doggy bed,
or sits on the Laptop because she doesn't think that she is getting enough
attention, or tears up the toilet paper because we forgot to say
good-bye... it is extremely safe to say that we would not have her any
other way!
