Our
best friend's name is Keen. He's a beautiful sable sheltie. Keen made
himself one of our family members from the day we got him. He's been a
handful at times and constantly needs to be exercised as he has energy to
spare. He's a handsome boy who is loved by all the family and spoiled a bit
much at times.
Keen is a very devoted dog. He never likes to be far from the family. He
ended up being more of a rescue dog for us after we found out the
conditions he came from. We bought him at six months but for the first six
months of his life he was raised in filth with many other animals that were
all allowed to defecate and urinate in the house. He was more special to us
from that point on knowing that he was going to get the care he deserved
yet never received for the first six months of his life. Keen is a
professional ball fetcher, and could do it for hours. He also enjoys long
walks and has recently taken up canoeing with my wife.
Keen loves most every other dog out there. My wife volunteers at the local
SPCA here in our city and will occasionally bring home another dog from the
shelter to play with Keen, which he loves. He is a loving dog that will
spend his quiet time with his head on a family members lap soaking up all
the attention he can get. My wife brushes him almost every day to keep his
coat looking beautiful although he isn't fond of being brushed.
Approximately every two months he gets sent to the dog spa for a bath and a
trim which he seems to enjoy. Keen has been a work in progress. It took a
lot of love and training to get him to where he is today after what he came
from. We are lucky people to find him and him us. He truly is part of our
family.
