This
is Kaya, she is a great dog. She is a red Shiba Inu. We drove through an ice
storm to get Kaya the Christmas of 2009, after I had been wanting a shiba for
almost a year. Kaya was four months old when we got her and she was already
house trained. We found that she responds quickly to any commands that we give
her and when we have parties she goes in a corner and lays down until she is
ready to visit. She isn't anti social in any way, she just wants to assess the
situation and decide who she wants to be friends with first.
Unlike some Shiba's she loves everyone, and gets along well with our two other
dogs who are smaller. She doesn't like many toys except for her stick that we
keep in the backyard and we make sure to never lose it, because it is the only
toy she will ever play with. Kaya loves birds, when she spots one she will run
as fast as she can down the hill after it.
When you talk to her she watches every word you say as if she understands what
you are saying to her. I couldn't ask for a better dog than Kaya!
