Roxy
was an abandoned dog, left by my parents' house in NJ in 2006. My parents
came home, and found her as a very small puppy, sitting on our front porch.
They gave her food, water, and shelter, and put an ad in the paper advertising
a found puppy. No one responded. At that time, my parents had just gotten a
new dog, and two dogs in the house would not have worked. My brother, who made
settlement on his own house the same day Roxy was found, agreed to care for
her and keep her as his own. She lived with my brother and his wife for about
a year, but when his wife became pregnant and had a baby, Roxy's energy became
too much for the little family. During this time, I had moved in to my own
apartment in Philadelphia, and was looking for a companion. The timing was
right, and I adopted Roxy.
We have lived together for over a year now, and we love our life together. She
is a happy, loving dog, and I now couldn't imagine my life without her. She
truly is a "family dog," and loves seeing all of her old owners (the entire
family!). She is pictured in my living room, with her favorite toy--one she
has had since my brother took her in. Roxy is truly a one of a kind dog with
such determination. She found herself a home, no matter the struggle and how
many moves and she loves us all.
