We
adopted Bolo from the California Shar Pei Rescue six years ago. When we
selected another dog from the rescue the shelter told us about Bolo who was
depressed and had been at the shelter for a long time. It took us seconds to
decide to adopt him as well as the other dog. We were shocked when we saw the
scars he bore from many years of abuse.
We named him Bolo, which means "Strenghth" in Chinese. He is our gentle giant
and he loves babies and children. He enjoys playing with fuzzy toys, wrestling
with his Shar Pei sister and going on long, slow walks. Characteristic of Shar
Pei's, he's very nosy and wants to know what's going on in the
neighborhood. He stops often on his walks to listen to neighborhood chatter
and meet new people.
Bolo is our 'big bear' and we enjoy nothing more than giving him hugs. He
wishes everyone a Happy Chinese New Year from him and his Chinese Shar Pei sister!
