This
is our baby, Bella. We named her "Taco Bell," but we just call her Bella
for short. We adopted her from a rescue agency in January. She's the most
calm Chihuahua we've ever seen. She loves the fireplace, just sitting and
curling up by the fireplace is her favorite activity. And her best friend is
a cat, she and Vegas curl up together on my wife's lap constantly. She is
truly an amazing little dog.
Originally dubbed as an aggressive animal by the SPCA, she's anything but. She
curls up by the fire when we're too busy to hold her, and curls up on our laps
whenever we're relaxing. I work in video and audio for a living, and I know
I've written some good music when Bella sits up and licks my face after
playback is over.
At night, she sleeps quietly with us in bed cuddling with us under the covers.
She never gets upset when we roll over, she just gets up and lets us settle,
then cuddles back in. In the morning, she doesn't wake us up. She lets us
sleep in, still cuddling patiently until we wake up, and then she goes outside
with us for her morning bathroom break. Bella lets the cats eat first (even
though we set out her food at the same time), waiting until we get up to go
eat her kibble.
We call her "dog in a box" when we describe her to people. She's already
loose leash trained, crate trained, she sits, she stays, she waits, she leaves
things alone when we say "leave it". Just an absolute dream for being well
behaved.
In the morning when we leave for work, she goes into her crate with no
complaints. There's just no feeling like coming home from work and seeing her
little crate bouncing around with happiness as she dances in excitement. And
her ballerina-like dancing on her hind legs with her front paws straight up in
the air next to her muzzle waiting to be picked up to say hello once we let
her out of her crate is completely irresistible.
