Kiki
is the world's most amazing dog. And the only way to make a Kiki is to
add the brains of a Border Collie with the loyalty of a Lab, and throw in the
nose of a blood hound! (No really, she found my hamster when it got out of
it's cage, but it was through the wall since she wasn't allowed in the room we
actually found it in. My Dad searched in that room while Kiki went to the wall
adjacent to the room, sniffing the wall right behind where my Dad found him.)
She opens and closes my brother's bedroom door when she wants to go in or
leave, and gives me a high and low five when we do something awesome. She
knows some Spanish (corre, camina, den la vuelta), and I'm pretty sure she is
telepathic too. My dad was cutting off a part of his steak that he wasn't
going to eat because it was burnt and fatty, and was planning to give it to
her, but didn't say a word about it. Seemingly out of the blue she gets up
from laying in her spot on the floor and sits by his chair looking up at him.
She knew! She also knows that 1 + 1 = 2 as she will hit my hand twice, but we
stopped doing math because no one likes math, even Papillons.
She knows everyone she has met by name, except for myself who she knows as
Mommy. She knows Dan (my brother), Joe or Joey (My other brother), Jay (yet
another brother), Grandpa (my Dad), Grandma (my mom), Jaws (My Pit Bull--who
gets beaten up by her, just for the record), Buddy (My Black Lab Mix--he
adores her), Dakota (My dad's friend's dog--she doesn't like him, he's a
nervous freak), Slapshot (our hamster who isn't afraid of Kiki the least bit),
and she knows that everything she can chase is called either a Cat, Squirrel,
or Chipmunk. She also knows that the things that she always chases but for
some reason cannot catch this time are called Kitty cats.
She knows what is going to happen when I say "food" "walk" "bath" "sleep
(sometimes seep)" "out" "potty" or "treat."
She is the most amazing dog ever.
And I love her!
