This
is our princess, Bonnie. She was eight weeks old when she joined our
household and, in the seven years we have had her, every day has been a
better and brighter day. She sleeps with us and is a total lap dog. She
loves everyone and is especially good with babies and children. On our
daily walks we give treats to other dogs we see and, of course, Bonnie
gets a treat as well from children along the way. We live in sunny San
Diego so most days are great for being outdoors all year round. Bonnie is
well known in our neighborhood and loves visiting with dogs as well as
humans. Children are drawn to her like magnets.
October 6 is her birthday and she will be eight years old this year but we
still think of her as a puppy. She usually gets groomed and bathed at home
by "mommy." She isn't too crazy about baths and grooming but mommy tells
her that's life when you are a Bichon. She doesn't care for it and seems
to always know what I have in store for her and hides out in her kennel or
someplace in the house, and I have to hunt for her. She never gets dirty
feet on her walks like other dogs we have had did — that's because she is
a princess, I assume.
Bonnie loves all treats but especially peanut butter and ice cream, when
those containers are opened. She is loved mightily by one and all,
especially her "mom and dad." Bonnie loves all stuffed toys and if I bring
one home I intend to give to a baby or child I have to hide it because
Bonnie thinks it is for her.
She is a food-a-holic and when I walk her I always carry a bag of treats
for other dogs and dog stuff. If I meet someone I talk with she stares up
at me so I will give that person a treat from my bag for them to give to
her. Bonnie stands up for treats, as you can see. And in the picture with
her sunglasses, she is getting ready for a day at the beach.
