About Us
Shasta, the Dog of the Day
Name: Shasta
Age: Three years old
Gender: Female Breed: German Shepherd Dog
Home: USA

This photo was taken when we were camping in the summer of 2008. Shasta loves the outdoors and she loves to go on hikes and explore. The only problem is that she tries to eat the squirrels and wild rabbits. Shasta is one of the funniest dogs ever and best dog I've ever had.

Shasta has an interesting personality. She is almost exactly like the dog Marley from the book and movie "Marley and Me." She has broken and eaten the curtains on our main window two times. She eats up blankets and pillows when we are not around her. She is not allowed on the furniture, so of course while we are downstairs she'll sneak upstairs and jump on the bed. But, sometimes when I'm lonely I sneak her up on the couch with me. She is probably the most hyper and sneaky dog you will ever meet! But, all the bad things she does is her and she'll never change. She has gone to training school and graduated, but she only behaves this way around people and dogs she doesn't know. She is one of the funniest dogs in the world and that's way we love her so much!

The tricks Shasta can do are so amazing! She can climb a ladder, not a doggie ladder but a human one. She knows basic commands like sit, stay, come, down, off, roll over, etc. She can play tag with me. I chase her, then when I tag her I run away and she chases me. She loves to crawl and sneak out of rooms. Shasta's favorite games are tag and fetch. But, mostly tag. She loves to chase things!

Shasta is always independent and hyper during the day. She always has a smiling face during the day! But, at night and int the morning she is very loving and affectionate. She always has a tired look in the morning and at night. But, at anytime in the day if she sees a cat, she goes wild! But at night she is a great watch dog! Shasta is a wonderful dog and we love her!
