Peppie
is a nine-year-old rescue poodle. He was very badly abused and
frightened of everything. He had been kept in a cage most of his five
years before I got him. The outdoors really frightened him and he was so
afraid of people - especially men.
The poodle rescue told me if he did not work out, I could return him. It
took me six months to get him from crawling under the furniture and
growling. Neighbors and friends were convinced that I had a really big
problem! I have had him for four years now. He is no longer afraid of
people and received his Hospice Pet Therapy dog certification two years
ago. He loves his Mama and his new little sister, Portia. Neighbors and
friends cannot believe how much he has changed. He is sweet, loving and is
so well behaved. I might mention that he is also a diabetic so he needs
shots twice a day. He never even gives them a second thought.
Peppie is a testament to what love and kindness will do in the life of an
abused animal. He spreads love wherever he goes.
