In
2003 Jake was left tied up in the backyard of a foreclosed home for
about a month, my friend who is a realtor went to show this home and
found Jake and immediately called me. I and my brother went and rescued
him that night. I took him to the vet the next day and he tested
positive for heartworms. He went thru three months of treatment and
finally recovered. He shows signs of abuse, he gets so scared he
sometimes pees and defecates. When I first found him, he didn't let me
touch his paws or his ears, but I have been working with him and I can
touch his paws now and I can touch his ears and clean them out for him.
It has taken him a while to build trust, but he has come a long way.
Despite his abusive past, Jake is very loving and goofy. He has never
shown anyone or any other dog teeth. He loves his toys, his favorite are
the bobos from Petsmart, one of them which is shown in the picture. He
is my handsome Jake.
