Christopher
is our big love bug. His big pleasure in life is to be with
you doing whatever you are doing, especially if it's cuddling on the
couch, or in bed for that matter. His most favorite place is in bed
between us - funny how small a ball a 70 pound dog can curl into just so
he doesn't get moved - lol. We rescued him when he was scheduled to go to
a Veterinary school as a 'lab dog' for the students to practice on - then
he would be euthanized. Instead he made the six-hour trip to our house. I
picked him up half way. He came out of the van that was meeting me, looked
in my eye and 'woo, woo, woo'd' at me like I was his long lost friend -
he's been very bonded to me ever since.
We got him home and introduced him to his new 'sister' - Jesse, a
lab/pointer mix, and right away they started playing tag in the yard.
They've been buddies ever since. He's also very smart. If Jesse is picking
on him too much he will go pick up a toy and chew on it for a few minutes.
Then he'll drop it and walk away. This never fails to stop the harassment
- Jesse can't resist 'stealing' the toy as soon as his back is turned. He
will then come over to me with a big grin on his face like 'Yeah - I did
it again!'. We certainly couldn't imagine life without our Christopher.
