Hey
there! My name is Colby. I was about a year old when dad found me as
a stray. I am now seven years old (check out the white hair in the snout
area.) Everyone is always saying that I am the sweetest dog on the
planet (it's true.) Mom and dad think I am a retriever mix but they are
not totally sure. I am very easy-going and relaxed, which is good
because my sister Jasmine is a feisty kitty who thinks she is boss. I
tore a muscle in my leg a few months ago but after having surgery I am
doing much better.
I have no enemies except for the vacuum cleaner and a squirrel who hangs
around in our back yard. I show him who is boss by chasing him - he is
pretty fast and I doubt mom would let me catch him anyway. I love to go
on walks and I really enjoy running after my toys. I like to grab them
with my teeth but I don't see the point of this so-called "fetch"
process, so I keep it and wait for mom or dad to throw another toy. Each
day I look forward to getting my vitamin, which mom throws and I catch
with my teeth - this is one of my many talents. I'll do almost anything
for a treat including tricks like playing dead, begging and rolling
over. I love to bark when the door bell rings, but I can't help but give
kisses to guests (no one has to know that I am wagging my tail as I
bark.) Mom and dad are always laughing at me because I like to spread
out and sleep in crazy positions - a dog has to be comfortable and get
good rest! They also tell me that I snore but I don't believe them. My
grandmas love to give me attention and spoil me, and sometimes mom and
dad let me play with my friend Skylar (she is a Weimaraner.) I love kids
and I am happy to see everyone.
I don't like baths too much but I reluctantly participate since I am
given a treat afterwards. I love riding in the car and basking near a
window in the house. While I love going outside, I live in Texas so I am
much more comfortable inside where I can stay cool. I am totally lovable
and I agree with dad that finding me was the best thing ever!
