Marley
is a Manchester Terrier with a Chow Tongue! Not an AKC purebred
but a special friend we adopted from a Rescue Center.
When we adopted Marley, she would not come anywhere near me. However,
she would run to my wife for safety. This was true for several weeks
with all males versus females. This, of course, led us to believe that
she was maltreated by some man. She is now almost nine months old and
most of that fear has gone away. She still prefers to play with my wife
over me, but she willingly goes for walks with me. In order for her to
walk with me alone my wife must come to the door with me. When Marley
sees her standing there, off we go.
About a eighteen months ago we had to put to sleep our precious Puffles.
She was a beautiful 5 3/4 pound purebred teacup poodle. We swore never to
get another dog because of the pain we went through over losing her.
Marley was and is the solution those feelings of loneliness and pain.
Rescue Dogs are a special 'breed' and show love in so many wonderful
ways.
