Copper
is a hound-terrier mix. As you can see, he has big, brown hound
eyes. He likes to look pitiful when he's not getting attention. But he
gets lots of attention. He doesn't know he's a dog, and we're not going
to burst his bubble now! He also doesn't know how old he is - he's
eleven, but he runs around and carries on like a three-year-old.
Copper loves to go for jogs, so whenever we get out our running shoes or
sweatjacket, he starts jumping around. When we sit down on the couch to
tie our shoes, he jumps up on the couch and then tries to jump on our
backs with a paw on each shoulder, like he's going for a ride. When he
jogs, he's a pretty good boy, but he does like to chase and bark at
squirrels. That's what you get with a hound-terrier mix.
What makes Copper extra special is how much a of a cuddle-bug he is. Not
only does he love to curl up with us -- I mean, on us -- on the couch,
but he also loves to sleep under the covers with us in bed. That might
turn some people off, but when he gets curled up in his "den" he just
looks so contented, and besides that, he keeps our feet warm in the winter!
