Laredo
is three years now, but in the picture he is eight months. (It's my
favorite picture of him.) Laredo is the best dog in the world! He is a
protector, friend, walking partner, and baby all rolled into one. He is
very protective, always keeping his eye on me, and all our animal
friends. He loves his husky "sister" Kiowa, and always lets her know
we are going for a walk by barking in her ear and tugging at her collar.
He loves walks and playing catch the whole way. He brings me my boots
or sneakers on command. He is by my side constantly. He's really my best friend.
He's not too fond of children. I think he thinks they are too loud and
jumpy. He thinks they are funny looking cows. Cows belong in the barn
and children should be silent and still, at least ACDs think so. However,
there is one child he likes. His two-year-old human cousin, Kaidance.
She calls him Rey-Rey and she kisses him on the nose. She gives him
treats from the treat jar. He returns her friendship by playing catch
with her and watching her so that no one touches her without his
approval. Laredo is now three years old and well on his way to becoming
Kaidance's best friend. Luckily there is enough room in his heart for both of us!
