This
is my princess Heidi. She is most precious to me and is the
quintessential Dachshund. She is very sweet, loving, and smart. Heidi
loves to snuggle under blankets (the dachshund way, of course!) and give
plenty of kisses. She loves her food (and everyone else's, too!) and
knows how to use those beautiful brown eyes! She also is a mighty and
fierce hunter!! Her sweet demeanor indoors changes as soon as she is
outdoors and her nose clicks into high gear. Watch out if you are a
chipmonk! She has been known to chase not only chipmunks, but also
rabbits, possums, go underground to find woodchucks and muskrats and
even jump in the mucky water for frogs! (She isn't very successful, but
loves the hunt anyway) Heidi has made digging an art form, even in the
sand at Lake Michigan (in the picture). She loves to play with rocks
and will nose them around and dig at them for hours. Swimming is fun
too, and if I swim too far out, she will come after me or bark at me
from the shore!
Heidi is cherished by all of her family and even her furry brother and
sisters (one brother dachshund and four kitty cats)! She is special
and I couldn't imagine life without her!
