Gustav!
what a cool name right?!? We think so and most folks who meet
him do too. We can't take credit for naming him, however, as that was
his name given at birth by the Guiding Eyes
organization he came from.
Gustav (a/k/a Goosy, Gus, wiggly-worm) came to us after the folks at
Guiding eyes had to make a tough decision to release him from the
program. At the time I was volunteering for them, and they asked if I
could watch a dog named Gustav, approx. six months old for two months as
he just came out of an operation and needed to recover before going back
into the program. Sure, we already had a lab from them we adopted the
year prior, Lois., so why not watch him a few months.
By the time we got him home the day we picked him up, my husband and I
looked at each other and said: "I want to keep him!" I don't know if
Lois felt the same way, but as the story goes he is staying with us
forever!! Gus is the most loving dog I ever met or owned! He's so
obedient, he only wants to please his Mom and Dad and sisters Lois and
Savannah. He is just so gorgeous to watch run and play as his build
is not that of a typical lab, he's slender with long legs. Just a
beautiful guy all-round! I feel extremely fortunate to be loved by
The Goose!!
